The festival in its seventeenth year will take place from 9 to 11 September 2021. The main programme of the festival will traditionally take place in the area of TJ Slezan in Frýdek-Místek. “The festival programme starts on Thursday in Faunapark with a theatre scene and in the pub U Arnošta, where, for example, Bandjeez with Katarína Mária Tichá will perform, which is a big draw. In the following days, the production will continue at the TJ Slezan stadium, where there will be the traditional Pod lampou stage, where the best bands from Frýdek-Místek will perform, and of course the Stoun stage with electronic production. “Kamil Rudolf, the new organizer of the event, who, for example, runs the Frýdek-Místek club STOUN and is the director of the Beats for Love festival, invites to the event.
Since its inception, the Sweetsen Festival concept has been built on a few simple ideas. The performers include only ensembles and personalities with ties to Frýdek-Místek, and all performing artists forfeit their right to an honorarium. Equally important is the charitable subtext of the festival, where the audience, although traditionally admitted free of charge, can contribute and also contribute in separate fundraisers for local humanitarian organizations. Sweetsen fest 2019 raised CZK 101.264, – in charity collections. Specifically for ADRA Frýdek- Místek 40.939, – CZK, Charity Frýdek-Místek 21.607, – CZK and Lending Hands 38.718, – CZK.Since the beginning of the collections and the transformation of the event, the total amount raised has already reached 864.621, – CZK. and we firmly believe that this year we will surpass the magical threshold of 1 million crowns, which is secretly indicated by the new logo of this year’s edition.
You can now donate online on Hithit and secure a “charity neck tag” in advance with the benefits we can afford thanks to the support of the OKD Foundation. How to do it? Decide whether you want to support the traditional charity collections for ADRA Frýdek-Místek, Charity Frýdek-Místek and Lending Hands on HitHit with 100 or 200 crowns. Choose your reward accordingly. For a hundred, you will get a “Sweetsen charity tag” around your neck in addition to a good feeling, plus one free beer at the festival.
For two hundred we have prepared a “VIP charity tag” with the possibility of entry to the festival afterparty with the participation of artists and organizers. Next to that, there is of course a Hithit online collection for anyone who wants to support traditional charities without remuneration and, for example, can’t make it to Sweetsen. All you have to do is to click any number of fifty crowns.
Visitors can look forward to three festival days. The whole festival will traditionally start on Thursday, 9 September, on two stages. One stage will be in the Arnošt’s pub, where the music programme will take place, and the second stage will be in the Frýdek-Místek Faunapark, where the theatre evening in the DNA Club will take place.
The main part of the programme will then burst out on Friday and Saturday 10 and 11 September on three stages in the Frýdek stadium. An area that will mainly include the Under the Lamp Stage, the Stoun Stage and the U Arnošta Chamber Stage. This year we are again expecting changes in the form of, for example, Page 2 new location of the main stages, hundreds of new seats in large-capacity tents as well as greater comfort, convenience, technical and organizational gadgets for visitors. A rich accompanying children’s programme will of course be a traditional part of the event.
